Dates: February 20-22, 2015
Cost: Register at http://www.ashevilletruffle.com/register.html
Celebrating the elusive, evocative Tuber melanosporum in food mecca Asheville, this three-day truffle extravaganza includes a welcome session, a truffle growers’ forum with experts from France and Oregon as well as regional experts, a culinary demonstration by A-B Tech chef instructors, a wine-paired truffle dinner extravaganza, and a visit to the Mountain Research Station truffle orchard, among other feasts for the senses.
The Asheville Truffle Experience kicks off on Friday, February 20th at 6:00 p.m., with a Welcome and Tasting Session in The Cellar at Isa’s Bistro, below the Haywood Park Hotel. Chef Duane Fernandes will provide guests with a variety of provocative dishes highlighting the magical Tuber melanosporum—otherwise known as the Périgord (Black Winter) Truffle—traditionally hailing from the deep, dark woods of France, Italy and Spain, but now also to be found growing in both the northwest and the southeast of the United States.
